Sibenik-Knin County

Sibenik-Knin County is a county in southern Croatia, located in the north-central part of Dalmatia. The biggest city in the county is Sibenik, which also serves as county seat. Other towns in the county are Knin, Vodice, Drnis and Skradin.

In the area there are 285 islands, islands and cliffs, numerous cultural and historical monuments, the region is one of the most developed tourist areas of Croatia. In the county there is the highest Croatian mountain Dinara (Sinjal) 1831 meters, two national parks Kornati and Krka.

The most widespread sector is tourism, industry and agriculture. Several industrial and economic zones have been built throughout the area. Processing of stone, food industry, alcoholic beverages, chemical and metal industry, plastics processing, construction, shipbuilding, recycling products, water energy. In fertile places, food crops such as wheat, barley, oats, corn, potatoes, tomatoes are grown. There is an exceptionally suitable climate for growing olive oil, grapes, fruits especially citrus fruits. There are also several larger wine producers in the region, of which the most famous is Vinoplod from Sibenik. The area also includes livestock and animal production, forestry and fishing. The most important business and industrial center is the cities of Sibenik, Drnis, Primosten, Vodice and Tisno.


Kornati

To the east of Sibenik there is a business zone "Podi", which covers an area of 549 hectares. At present, there are dozens of companies operating in the field of construction, glass processing, renewable energy, wood processing, recycling, etc. Several business and industrial areas are located near Drnis. The city of Vodice plans to build the industrial zone.
Krka river has five hydropower plants in operation. Several wind farms are currently operating in the county, and others wind farms are planning to build.
The tourist centers are: Vodice, Sibenik, Skradin, Tribunj, Pirovac, Primosten and Rogoznica. The rich offer and the large number of tourists from abroad, increasing each year, offer countless opportunities for investment.
Trade is also an important business sector. Large shopping malls have been built in large cities, especially in their suburbs.
